Diesel Locomotives
Shown in the table below are the diesel locomotives that can be seen in operation at the Strawberry Line. All are powered by batteries which are carried inboard on the locomotives, which are driven by electric motors. The amount of work each locomotive can do between recharges varies according to the number of circuits performed and the weight hauled – obviously the more heavily loaded trains draw more power. Other factors involved are that some locomotives have more driving axles and motors than others. Just like the real railway, wet or greasy rails can affect adhesion and therefore cause wheelspin, which reduces battery life.
